The solitude of New Mexico's high-desert mountains filled Lorraine Lipani with subtle voices, the inner and outer worlds of nature, the joy of relationship, and the profound essence of wilderness. These quiet moments of introspection and insight, rich with strength as well as tenderness, inspired the poems found in this collection, words that speak the compelling voice of love.

An intimate life is portrayed here -- a small ranch near Taos at the heart. Lovers ride horses in a wide-sky landscape. Wild creatures stalk the stream at night. Mountain weather rules the seasons, with the coming spring greeted as a minor miracle. Inner nature mirrors the drama. The full moon seems to speak in tongues.

Within the mysterious beauty of this wilderness, a sense of interspecies family is revealed -- like a dream that whispers Love is all there is.

About the author
Lorraine Lipani is a horsewoman, clay artist, and writer. Her sculptures have been exhibited in fine art galleries nationwide, and her poems, short stories, and non-fiction have been published in newspapers, magazines, and journals.

The author grew up in Brooklyn, New York, b. 1949. She attended SUNY Oneonta during the innovative 1960s. While earning a Liberal Arts degree in Literature, she realized a passion for writing and art-making, as well as Jungian psychology and mysticism. In her twenties, she worked at The Edgar Cayce Foundation in Virginia, trained there as a massage therapist, and maintained a practice for over forty years. In her thirties she studied ceramics and has kept an art studio ever since. In her forties, she learned how to ride a horse, her second favorite relationship. Lorraine and her lover, artist Jolly Smith, lived in northern New Mexico for many years before moving to The Sea Ranch, California in 2013--still riding horses in beautiful places.
