Two by Twins - Juneteenth Joy and Celebration: Juneteenth Joy and Celebration: The Twins Take a Cultural Road Trip
Mimi BrightLooking for a Juneteenth book for kids that goes beyond the basics?
Juneteenth Joy & Celebration takes children on a heartwarming road trip to Galveston, Texas - the very place where, on June 19, 1865, the news of freedom finally reached the last enslaved people in America, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Curious twins Jada and Justin are about to discover why their family still celebrates.
In the music spilling into the street.
In the mural taller than two stories.
In the red drink glowing in Jada's hand.
In every story their mother tells on the road.
From the historic Juneteenth mural in Galveston to the meaning behind traditional red foods, every page is a love letter to where we come from - and a quiet promise about who we're becoming.
