The Coverdale psalter is the translation of the Book of Psalms by Myles Coverdale, first published in 1535 as part of his complete English Bible. It is historically significant for its inclusion in the Book of Common Prayer of the Anglican Church, where it has been used and beloved for centuries. This beautiful new (second) edition of the New Coverdale Psalter has been freshly type-set, with a new psalm beginning on each page, and drop caps initiating each psalms. Type-size: 11.5. Printed in two colors (Black and Red) on ivory 40gsm paper, bound in a soft and supple black split-calf, with a single gold ribbon. It has gilded page edges and rounded corners. The cover-stamping utilizes one of the decorative motifs used on the Bay Psalter -- the first book printed and published in the United States.
