The Guy Behind the Glasses

The Guy Behind the Glasses: A Memoir

What happens when a shy kid with a transistor radio grows up to become one of the Capital Region's most recognizable radio personalities?

In The Guy Behind the Glasses, Gary S. Locatelli shares the funny, heartfelt, and often unexpected journey that took him from a small-town childhood in Johnstown, New York, to life behind the microphone as the beloved "Uncle Vito" on PYX 106.

Filled with colorful family stories, unforgettable characters, laugh-out-loud moments, and behind-the-scenes radio memories, this memoir is about much more than broadcasting. It's about growing up, finding your voice, overcoming life's challenges, and discovering that the people and experiences that shape us often become the stories worth telling.

Whether you're a longtime listener, a fan of classic radio, or simply enjoy memoirs rich with humor, nostalgia, and heart, The Guy Behind the Glasses offers an honest and entertaining look at a life well lived-one story at a time.
