The Day That Icarus Crashed Into Our Garden

Few writers have such an intense and lifelong relationship with the world of fine arts as the Flemish poet Willem M. Roggeman. This collection captures the poetic narrative and insight of that relationship. As the Flemish poet, artist, and critic Paul De Vree so accurately described, Willem M. Roggeman is "a painter with words." Long recognized across Europe, Roggeman's poetry has been translated into Icelandic, French, Italian, Greek, Polish, Serbian, and Russian, and now into English in the United States. Roggeman is a poet deeply engaged with both literature and art, composing across the borders of genre, language, and the perception of time.
