The Chains of Malice: A Dark Sci-fi Thriller

Mentally volatile, physically violent, and spiritually fractured convicts shouldn't be on the top of the list to use superpowered exoskeletons, yet here we are.

Curiesay has been locked up at the Wilted Rose Asylum for her entire adult life, and she wants out. When she's offered her freedom in exchange for becoming a warrior, she can't but say yes.

Whisked away to a mysterious fortress city, she's forced into a strange suit of armor that demands a painful bargain: sanity for strength. At the mercy of the maniacal scientist who created the suits, Curiesay must fight for her life in trial after trial.

But time is running out. A world-threatening plague has awakened, and mankind wants a decisive win. As Curiesay struggles to gain her footing, both as a warrior and as a free woman, she's set on a path of conflict that she can't avoid.

The first book of the Those Who Suffer series gives you epic battles, dark mysteries and a raucous cast.

Fans of Lake of Darkness by Adam Roberts, Volatile Memory by Seth Haddon and A Parade of Horribles by Matt Dinniman will enjoy the blending of metaphysical dilemmas, high-stakes action and character-based plot.
