The 1776 Retreat

In 2026, the country is celebrating its 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To honor that accomplishment, this novel takes place prior to July 4th. The inn is hosting a writer's retreat to celebrate freedom of speech as part of the Philadelphia anniversary events, but the federal funds to pay for these events have been stolen along with food and other items from the 1776 Inn. Maggie Hamilton, the inn's housekeeper, and Van Masters, a local sports journalist, are working with the FBI to catch the thieves. Will they find the money so the celebrations can happen or will Maggie be blamed for the theft? What will happen to her and Van's budding relationship?
