Henry Shoemaker collected the details of the various wild cats native to Pennsylvania in the early days, including the bobcat and the lynx. Included are anecdotes and details from the experts on the subject in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Most entertaining, however, are the tales and descriptions of the various legendary hunters of the region, who trapped and shot them. This newly edited edition includes a foreword by Lawrence Knorr and numerous new annotations detailing and supporting or refuting the claims made by Shoemaker.
