Pacific Northwest Gothic is an annual literary journal of fiction, essays, poetry, and art that brings the traditions of Gothic literature into the distinctive landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. In this inaugural issue, writers and artists from Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and British Columbia explore the region through a Gothic lens, finding darkness and beauty in the places we know and the things we fear.
Pacific Northwest Gothic Volume I features a diverse selection of contemporary writers and artists whose work reflects the many forms Pacific Northwest Gothic can take. Real-world terrors-including domestic abuse, fatal jealousy, murder, childhood trauma, grief, and death-intersect with the paranormal, from ghosts and vampires to monsters such as the elusive Pacific Northwest Tree Octopus.
For fans of modern Gothic fiction, northwest horror, psychological horror, Back Into the Ground: An Anthology of Pacific Northwest Inspired Horror, Rain Shadows: Dark Tales from Washington State, Girl in the Creek by Wendy Wagner, and, of course, the Pacific Northwest.
