Elena Flores and Jo Reilly grew up in totally different worlds, but when they discover that they're half-sisters roughly the same age, their worlds collide. After a traumatic incident in her hometown of Miami, Elena moves to the wealthy suburbs of Long Island to live with the father she's never met, turning Jo's life upside down.
