My wife and I consider ourselves climate migrants and our journey has not been linear. It's been jagged and traumatic. We had to break free from town life to see that freedom lay just outside the city walls on ground that was truly ours.

I don't want to go to space, I want to fix what society has broken. This book combats through personal storytelling the myth that America is ok and the legend that the climate crisis and subsequent migration is not real. One human story has the power to inspire the next and that is my biggest hope - to help move the conscious portion of the population to the nearest exit and empower them to build their own refuge and help sustain what wildness we have left.
