An unlikely series of events is set into motion when a urologist, Dr. Jamie Bloom, simultaneously treats two patients in the emergency room for kidney stones: Ida, an octogenarian Auschwitz Holocaust survivor; and Stine, a member of the Nazi party. Hospital tests indicate that Ida has blood platelet issues, while Stine suffers from leukemia. Studies are conducted, revealing that Ida is a DNA match to Stine and therefore a suitable donor. The patients become embroiled in a deadly cat and mouse game, which ends in a way neither of them could have ever predicted.
