Dear Department of Ghosts: A Case File of Labels, Letters & Loose Ends

When eleven-year-old Toby writes to the Department of Ghosts to report strange happenings in his room, he expects help. Instead, the Department writes back-with intake forms, a case number for Archive 13B, and a hapless clerk named Clarence G. Bonesworth whose advice is hilariously absurd...and not very useful.

Toby sends details about the cold spot under his bed, wet footprints on his carpet, and a goldfish named Fettuccine who keeps dying and coming back...wrong. But when Toby notices someone-or something-is changing his file, he begins to wonder what's really happening inside the Department...and who else is involved. Other cases are at risk, too, including a girl receiving letters in her dead grandmother's handwriting. Their files share one chilling detail: the timestamp 3:17 a.m.

Presented as a full-color, case-file-style mystery-packed with forms, letters, and "evidence"-Dear Department of Ghosts blends dark humor with a slow-burn haunting for readers ages 9-13.
