A Funny Thing Happened On My Way to Protect The President: Moments of Humor and Humanity from One of the World's Most Serious Jobs

Gabriel Palazzi has worked in the federal government since 1991. For thirteen of those years, he worked in one of the world's most serious professions-protecting presidents and supporting global security missions with the U.S. Secret Service Technical Security Division. But this isn't a book about secrets. It's a book about humanity. Written for his daughters, Palazzi recounts the unforgettable mishaps, unexpected encounters, and moments of laughter that unfolded behind the scenes of a life spent in service. From awkward beginnings and training blunders to friendships, famous faces, and the absurdities that accompany even the most demanding responsibilities, these stories reveal the lighter side of an extraordinary career. Filled with humor, humility, and heart, this memoir proves that sometimes the best memories aren't the dramatic ones-they're the moments that remind us we're all wonderfully human.
