Newly relocated to the charming Alaskan town of Caribou Bay after bidding farewell to his best friends Morgan and Janine Eberly, Yoshi Ito inadvertently prompts his boss, geneticist Dr. Emory Layton, to try a new genetic acceleration protocol in a local prison. Using technology from the TimeLock process, the experiment goes awry. Instead of yielding the desired medical benefits, it generates a terrifying outcome that infuses a convicted killer with superhuman powers.
