Hardworking NYPD homicide detective Olivia Marinock is very committed to her job in Brooklyn. So much so that she has little social life outside of it. The closest thing to friends she has are her mentor Randall and her junior detective partner, Kevin, at the bureau. With one of them on leave for a family matter, she is even more alone. This is not a problem for Marinock as long as she has work to do and, unfortunately, the homicide bureau is about to become very busy.

When a mysterious death occurs at a subway station, a chance discovery while searching the scene opens a new case that quickly spirals out of control. Marinock is swept into a world of depraved horrors and trauma. She must navigate political corruption, travel across state lines and into the den of a pair of serial killers. Marinock's skill as a detective may put everything she cares about at risk.
