The Government's propaganda machine ensures that Normals live in terror, believing even a household pet could secretly be a monster in disguise. On their eighteenth birthday, every citizen is tested. If the gene is active, their fate is sealed: the slums, the Shifter Rehabilitation Centre, or worse. With no rights, no protection, and nowhere to run, Shifters must choose between hiding who they are or risking everything to survive.

Jessica never asked for this life-she only wanted to escape.
