IDK (short for Inevitably Dusty Keepsake) is a collection of poetry that Brumy has written/performed in his initial few years as a New England slam poet.

While many of these pieces were written with the intent to be read within 3:00-3:10 minutes, some of the pieces were written without this time-limit in mind. The pieces are also ordered with some flow of emotions or ideas in mind, but the individual pieces were not necessarily written to be read in the order they are presented here.

Inspiration is Dying is meant to reflect a desire to return to the roots of art, the artist, rather than focusing on popularity or products.

Pieces such as Hey, Old Friend and Lembre-se de Sua Origem explore reconnecting with one's self to truly understand what's important/who they really are.

Fun little tidbit here, Pomottarap was originally created as a rap to go along with an audio beat Brumy had created YEARS ago and uploaded to Newgrounds.com . If there is any curiosity, feel free to look up Battle Preperation (yes, spelled wrong), though note that the version that it turned into here has a lot cut from the original whole rap. Perhaps this gives a little clue as to where the name came from as well.

Fire is... initially starts out with the typical personification of fire, but then twists to explore what I believe fire can truly represent, and explore a little how it feels when something is cast in a negative light when there is instead so much hidden positivity.

When Did Hatred talks about how society as a whole feels a lot more standoffish and no longer embracing of one another, or willing to open up and understand one another.

Inner Demons shows us that we don't love ourselves enough; it is a persona piece written with a character meant to reflect that little inner voice many of us struggle with that tells us, You're not good enough, or, You need to do this to feel truly accepted and loved. That voice only has power if we give it power.

Everyone is Weird(?) accelerates the descent into darker themes, and while it explores the idea that we are all indeed strange in some shape or form, we can't shake off this pressure of feeling like we're alone in feeling this way.

Shitshow Tix explores the struggle of recognizing your inner demons and battles, and trying to cope but feeling like even that coping mechanism isn't working anymore.

Precipice was Brumy's first Internationally published and translated poem, and does explore a very somber theme inspired by an event that is taken more literally than some of the other pieces included in this compendium. But the true message is as is stated at its end, and if there is one message that is desired to be retained in the reader's head, it is the one that comes at the end of this piece.

Words as Masks explores how the words we use to communicate and interact no longer reflect how we truly feel, instead representing a mask we want to show when we are in public.

Love Thy Neighbors explores the different strategies one can employ when confronting hatred. Of course in the end, hate + anything other than love only leads to more hatred.

Sour Words (SW) was written with a particular subject in mind, but explores quickly the birth, life and death of a shared romance in general in 3 separate stanzas.

Finally, contrary to what I said before, City Traffic (Part 1) and The Curator are written in relation to each other, and hopefully with serve as the first 2 chapters of a much longer poetic adventure. Something akin to the Iliad...a Bruliad? Maybe....

There is also another gift hidden in the pages, but that mystery will be enjoyed only by those who gets the book ... and those they share it with: )
