I began to experience the joy of Jesus, the Christ in my soul, an inexpressible exuberance and a sense of spiritual freedom I had never known before. And now that I have discovered that I could express this freedom and truly feel happiness by writing about this gift, I can, finally, with courage, express the opposing end of this continuum of sadness and serenity, and recognize that they are one in the same. We must surrender to our pain and sadness in order to experience the joy of Jesus Christ and all He has to offer us, for He is Lord of all.
